Ginkgo Biloba Health Benefits. It is also used by many cancer patients to treat and prevent cancer and reduce chemotherapy-associated toxicity
OVERVIEW
Ginkgo biloba, or maidenhair, is a tree native to China that has been grown for thousands of years for a variety of uses. Because it’s the only surviving member of an ancient order of plants, it’s sometimes referred to as a living fossil. The leaves and seeds are used in traditional medicine to treat respiratory diseases, circulatory disorders, sexual dysfunction, and loss of hearing. Scroll down till the end to know more about Ginkgo Biloba’s health benefits and its side effects.
Ginkgo Biloba also known as Maidenhair tree, Kew tree, bai Guo, or yin xing ye is one of the oldest living tree species, and is cultivated worldwide for its medicinal properties and aesthetic appeal. The leaves and seeds are used in traditional medicine to treat respiratory diseases, circulatory disorders, sexual dysfunction, and loss of hearing. The leaf extract is a popular herbal supplement and is promoted extensively for memory loss. Ginkgo is also used by many cancer patients to treat and prevent cancer and reduce chemotherapy-associated toxicity. Ginkgo supplements are available as tablets, capsules, and liquid extracts. The dried leaves are used for tea.
In vitro studies of ginkgo extracts indicate anti-infective, chemopreventive, anticancer, and cytotoxic effects. Epidemiological data indicate that ginkgo may play a role in reducing the risk of ovarian cancer. However, data from the Gingko Evaluation of Memory (GEM) study, in which cancer risk was the secondary outcome, do not support ginkgo’s effectiveness in reducing cancer risk. Studies in patients with gastric cancer showed a reduction in tumour area following oral supplementation with capsules of ginkgo exocarp polysaccharides. A combination of an injectable form of ginkgo extract and 5-fluorouracil improved the quality of life of patients with advanced colorectal cancer. Further studies are needed to determine the anticancer potential of ginkgo supplements.
Evidence of an anticancer effect for ginkgo is limited.

Some research has investigated using ginkgo to treat sexual dysfunction caused by the use of antidepressant drugs (SSRIs). Results indicated that ginkgo wasn’t any more effective than a placebo in these cases.
Additionally, there may be an interaction between ginkgo and SSRI medications, which could render them less effective.
One study evaluated the use of ginkgo to increase sexual desire and contentment in women who were concurrently undergoing sexual psychotherapy.
The combination of ginkgo and therapy was effective over a longer term compared to a placebo, but supplementing with ginkgo alone was not.
The rationale for using ginkgo to treat sexual dysfunction makes sense, but research does not support it at this time.
VerVain Health Benefits and Sides Effects. Verbenalin in vervain, known for its calming effects, reduces anxiety and depression.
OVERVIEW
Most of the species are native to the Americas and Asia. However, Verbena Officinalis, the common vervain or common verbena, is a type of species native to Europe. Verbena Officinalis is a perennial herb found in open areas, near dwellings, hillsides and roadsides in temperate, subtropical and tropical areas worldwide. Scroll down to know more about verbena’s health benefits and side effects.
All you need to know about Verbena: VerVain Health Benefits and Sides Effects
Vervain (Verbena Officinalis) is a flowering perennial plant, which means it regrows year after year. It has delicate, jagged leaves and tiny, five-petaled blossoms with no scent. It is not the same as lemon verbena, a garden herb used for cooking that also has medicinal properties.
Vervain contains iridoid glycosides, like verbenalinand hastatoside, which protect the plant from infection and are known for sleep promotion. In addition, vervain contains verbascoside, a plant compound high in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It also has flavonoids, plant compounds that reduce inflammation and oxidization and prevent gene mutations.
Verbena other names: VerVain Health Benefits and Sides Effects
Vervain is also called:
American blue verbena
Simpler’s joy
Holy herb
Mosquito plant
Wild hyssop
In traditional Chinese medicine, it is called mǎ biān cǎo.
Dietary supplements are not regulated in the United States, meaning the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not approve them for safety and effectiveness before products are marketed. When possible, choose a supplement that has been tested by a trusted third party, such as USP, ConsumerLabs, or NSF.
However, even if supplements are third-party tested, that doesn’t mean that they are necessarily safe for all people or effective in general. Therefore, it is important to talk to your healthcare provider about any supplements you plan to take and check for any potential interactions with other supplements or medications.

Anxiety and Depression: VerVain Health Benefits and Sides Effects
The verbenalin in vervain, an iridoid glycoside known for its calming effects, has prompted some research on the herb’s potential for reducing anxiety and depression.
A 2016 animal study published in the Frontiers of Pharmacology looked at how vervain impacted several factors, including anxiety.2 Researchers found that mice who received a vervain extract dose of 100 milligrams per kilogram of body weight (mg/kg) had the highest anti-anxiety effect measured by movement through a maze. However, when the dosage was higher—300 mg/kg—the effect was reduced, likely due to sedative effects at a higher dosage.
In addition, a 2020 animal study in Basic and Clinical Neuroscience evaluated the antidepressant effects of vervain.3 Researchers found that rats that received 200 mg/kg vervain extract by oral administration experienced an antidepressant effect, shown by significantly decreased immobility time, increased time spent in light, and the number of entries into central maze squares.
Since researchers conducted these studies on rodents, it is uncertain whether the results would translate similarly to humans. Therefore, more research is needed.
Insomnia: VerVain Health Benefits and Sides Effects
The calming effect of compounds in vervain has similarly prompted research on the plant’s potential in helping those with insomnia.
In the 2016 study referenced above, researchers looked at the sedative properties of vervain.2 When the researchers gave mice a 50–300 mg/kg dose of an extract of vervain, they noticed an increase in sedative effects with increasing dosage. Mice who received vervain had decreased sleep onset and increased sleep duration.
Since researchers conducted this study on mice, it’s unclear whether these benefits would transfer to humans. Therefore, more research is needed.
Again, the sedative nature of vervain’s compounds has prompted research on the herb’s anticonvulsant potential.
In the above-referenced 2016 study, researchers also examined the anticonvulsant activities of vervain in mice.2 Researchers noticed a dose-dependent response in mice who received 100–500 mg/kg of vervain extract. In addition, mice dosed with vervain had delayed onset and decreased duration time of tonic-clonic seizures (a classic seizure with unconsciousness and limb jerking).
As with the other study results, it’s unclear whether the same benefits could be applied to humans. So, more research is needed.
Infections: VerVain Health Benefits and Sides Effects
Treating infectious diseases has become increasingly challenging because of growing antibiotic resistance. Vervain’s antimicrobial properties have prompted research on the herb’s possible role in overcoming these challenges.
In a 2016 study in Cogent Chemistry, researchers examined the antimicrobial potential of vervain. Scientists evaluated different parts of vervain against 24 strains of disease-causing bacteria.4 According to the research:
Extracts derived from the stem of V. Officinalis killed bacteria Staphylococcus aureus andPseudomonas aeruginosa in the test tube more effectively than the antibiotic amoxicillin.
Similarly, the plant’s leaves showed considerable activity against the bacterium Citrobacter freundii.
The root turned out to be highly effective against the bacterium Bacillus subtilis.
This research was conducted in test tubes, so more research is needed to see if the same results would occur in humans.
Colorectal Cancer: VerVain Health Benefits and Sides Effects
Flavonoids, antioxidants found in vervain, reduce oxidization and gene mutations. Therefore, some researchers have looked at the herb’s anticancer potential, specifically in colorectal cancer.
A 2017 laboratory study published in the Tropical Journal of Pharmaceutical Research examined how polysaccharides (a type of long-chain carbohydrate) extracted from vervain affected colorectal cancer cells.5 Researchers found that an extract of V. Officinalis polysaccharides significantly inhibited cell invasion and migration and significantly decreased cell adhesion.
Other
In addition to the potential health benefits listed above, some people use vervain to support:
Headaches
General aches and pain
Digestive dysfunction
Upper respiratory tract symptoms
There is little research available to support these uses.
Your healthcare provider may recommend vervain for stress reduction or sleep. However, consuming a herb like a vervain may have potential side effects. These side effects may be common or severe.
Common Side Effects: VerVain Health Benefits and Sides Effects
The FDA considers vervain « generally recognized as safe » (GRAS) as a food.1 Most people who take it experience few side effects, including:
Indigestion and gas
Contact dermatitis
Localized rash and redness
To limit the likelihood of an allergic reaction, apply a little to the skin before using a vervain tincture and wait an hour to see if a rash develops.
Always speak with a healthcare provider before taking a supplement to ensure that the supplement and dosage are appropriate for your individual needs.
Since the FDA does not regulate herbs, there are no guidelines for the appropriate use of vervain in treating medical conditions. Capsule doses range from 150 milligrams to 1,000 milligrams.
In animal research, the following dosages were used:2
200 mg/kg for depression
100-300 mg/kg for anxiety
50–300 mg/kg for sleep
100–500 mg/kg for seizures
The quality of traditional Chinese herbs and other folk remedies varies. According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, some Chinese herbal products are safe, but others are not.7
For example, some products do not contain the listed ingredients. In addition, some analyses have reported that products were contaminated with things including:7
Undeclared plant or animal materials
Drugs
Pesticides
Heavy metals
Incorrect herbs
Discussing vervain with a healthcare provider can ensure you choose a reputable product and take the correct dose.
How to Store Vervain
Store dried herbs in an airtight container at room temperature and out of sunlight. Discard after one year. Similarly, keep capsules, tinctures, and powders in a cool, dry place and away from direct sunlight. Again, discard after one year or as indicated on the packaging.
People do not usually consume vervain as whole food. Instead, people dry the herb and use it in teas. In addition, it is available in supplement form.
Vervain supplements come in many forms, including:
Capsules
Tinctures
Extracts
Astringents
Teas
Powders
Dried herbs
Since vervain is a herb, it is plant-based. However, you should carefully read the ingredients of any supplements and teas to see if they include other components. If you have allergies, read labels carefully to ensure the product does not contain any known allergens, such as wheat, egg, or milk.
Summary
Vervain is a herb sometimes used medicinally to treat insomnia, anxiety and depression, and infections. Even so, evidence to support the health benefits of vervain is limited and more research is needed to conclude whether it is safe and effective as complementary medicine.
Since it is a herbal supplement, the FDA does not regulate vervain. So, quality and safety vary. Also, remember that vervain is not a replacement for standard medical care. Always discuss any OTC medicine, including herbal supplements, with a healthcare provider.

How do blocked fallopian tubes affect pregnancy?
How can a blockage in a fallopian tube prevent pregnancy?
Can you still ovulate with blocked fallopian tubes?
Where do eggs go if tubes are blocked?
How can I unblock my fallopian tubes naturally?
OVERVIEW
In the genital system, the fallopian tubes are where fertilization takes place. It’s where the sperm meets the egg. From here, the fertilized zygote travels to the uterus, where it implants and grows into a fetus.
In Case the fallopian tube is blocked, it’s still possible to get pregnant as the egg can travel through the other side of the body since there are two ovaries. However, if both tubes are completely blocked, it won’t be possible to get pregnant naturally until one or both is unblocked.
Blocked fallopian tubes can be caused by the following:
endometriosis, which can cause a tissue buildup in the tubes
pelvic inflammatory disease, a disease that can cause scarring
fibroids, which are growths that can block the fallopian tube
scars, which can be caused by ectopic pregnancies or abdominal surgery
some sexually transmitted infections, such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea
If you’re trying to get pregnant and have blocked fallopian tubes, you may look for natural treatments to unblock them.
This article aims to shed more light on fallopian tube nattubes’remedies and also to show the possibility to get pregnant with only one fallopian tube. Scroll down for more discoveries.
Blocked fallopian Natural remedies: Blocked fallopian tubes and Pregnancy
1. Vitamin C
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that can reduce swelling by helping your immune system function better. For this reason, it’s thought to heal scarring and could have a positive effect on the fallopian tubes.
According to the Office for Dietary Supplements, it’s best to get all your vitamin C from your diet. However, it can also be taken as a supplement. Vitamin C isn’t stored in the body so it must be taken in every day.
In high amounts, vitamin C can cause diarrhoea and stomachache. Otherwise, there aren’t any serious side effects.
Unfortunately, vitamin C has never been tested for its ability to unblock tubes. We just don’t know whether it’s an effective treatment. Nevertheless, it’s important to ensure you consume sufficient vitamin C for your overall health.
2. Turmeric: Blocked fallopian tubes and Pregnancy
Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory. Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, has been shown to reduce inflammation. You can consume curcumin in supplement form, add turmeric to your food, or have a turmeric drink.
There are no known side effects of turmeric when taken in small doses. However, in doses of more than 8 grams per day, it can have an adverse effect. Be sure to take the correct dosage of turmeric, or better yet, add the spice to your cooking.
While turmeric has many benefits, there are no studies on whether or not it can help unblock tubes.
A common ingredient with multiple benefits, ginger is another natural anti-inflammatory. A 2014 paper showed that gingerol, the active ingredient in ginger, is both an antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory.
There’s no scientific evidence that ginger can unblock fallopian tubes.
4. Garlic: Blocked fallopian tubes and Pregnancy
Garlic is often suggested as a way to boost fertility and unblock tubes. A 2004 study on the fertility benefits of garlic suggested that it might be able to improve fertility. More evidence is needed to confirm this.
Beyond that dated study, there isn’t any evidence that garlic can improve fertility. That said, a moderate amount of garlic is perfectly safe, so it might be worth trying and there are other health benefits of adding garlic to your diet.
Some natural and Eastern doctors recommend ginseng to increase fertility. While ginseng seems to have several potential benefits, there’s no evidence that it can improve female fertility, let alone treat blocked fallopian tubes.
6. Vaginal steaming
An alternative treatment that’s recently risen in popularity, vaginal steaming supposedly treats multiple conditions, from menstrual cramps to infertility. It’s also recommended by some as a treatment for unblocking fallopian tubes.
Unfortunately, there’s no evidence behind these claims. It doesn’t seem anatomically possible for steam to enter the fallopian tubes through the cervix. Additionally, steaming the vagina might lead to a burn or an infection. This can harm your fertility.
Some alternative medicine practitioners suggest fertility massages unblock fallopian tubes. These usually involve warm oil massages on the abdominal area. There’s no scientific evidence that this works.
8 Mugwort
Mugwort is a herb sometimes recommended for boosting fertility. It’s also recommended for unblocking fallopian tubes.
Mugwort has a long history of use for fertility in several different cultures. It was used throughout Europe and Asia for centuries. It’s often used in Chinese medicine in the form of moxibustion, which involves burning mugwort over an acupressure point.
Castor oil is a popular home remedy for infertility and blocked tubes. It’s also commonly used to induce labour, although a 2009 review shows that it’s neither harmful nor helpful in this regard.
There’s no scientific evidence that proves that castor oil unblocks fallopian tubes. However, there aren’t any risks associated with the topical application of castor oil, so it might be worth a try and it can moisturize your skin.
10. Herbal tampons
Herbal tampons — that is, herbs inserted into the vagina — are popular home fertility treatments. However, there aren’t any studies that test the efficacy of this treatment.
Bear in mind that these tampons aren’t sterile, and they can lead to a vaginal infection. Use these with caution. Investigate each herb before use and work with a licensed practitioner.
Maca is a Peruvian plant with several reported benefits. One of those alleged benefits is that it boosts fertility. While a 2016 review of studies shows that it could improve semen quality, no evidence suggests it unblocks the fallopian tubes.
12. Exercise: Blocked fallopian tubes and Pregnancy
Exercise is a lifestyle change sometimes believed to improve fertility and unblock fallopian tubes. A 2012 cohort study trusted Source that studied 3,628 women suggested that exercise can improve fertility levels. But so far, no studies have been conducted on the link between exercise and blocked fallopian tubes.
13. Reduce alcohol intake: Blocked fallopian tubes and Pregnancy
Drinking alcohol hasn’t been directly linked with blocked fallopian tubes. However, it’s worth cutting out alcohol if you’re trying to conceive. This lifestyle change can improve your overall health and fertility.
14. Yoga
Many people who are trying to conceive practice yoga. Some people even recommend it for treating blocked fallopian tubes.
According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative HealthTrusted Source, yoga could be an effective way to reduce stress. Stress can reduce fertility, so it may be worth trying stress-reducing techniques such as yoga if you’re trying to conceive. Unfortunately, no evidence proves yoga unblocks fallopian tubes.
15. Meditation: Blocked fallopian tubes and Pregnancy
Similar to yoga, meditating is scientifically proven to reduce stress, according to this 2014 review trusted Source. Meditation might be a useful tool for improving your fertility. Nevertheless, no studies have been conducted on whether meditating affects the fallopian tubes.
16. Improving diet: Blocked fallopian tubes and Pregnancy
While diet is important when it comes to fertility, there’s no evidence linking diet to blocked fallopian tubes. It’s still a wise idea to eat a varied diet and stay hydrated so your body has sufficient nutrients while you’re trying to conceive.
You should take prenatal vitamins the year before you try to conceive as low folic acid, a nutrient found in green leafy vegetables has been associated with spinal Bifida and other similar problems.
How to know if your fallopian tubes are blocked
Your doctor might use hysterosalpingography (HSG), which is a type of X-ray used to diagnose blocked fallopian tubes. Your doctor will add dye to your uterus and fallopian tubes, which will help blockages show up on the X-ray.
Alternatively, your doctor may use laparoscopy to diagnose blocked fallopian tubes, but it’s more likely that they’ll use an HSG first. Laparoscopy is a surgery but it’s minimally invasive and requires only small incisions.
Side effects of both the HSG and laparoscopy are rare.
Medical treatments to unblock fallopian tubes: Blocked fallopian tubes and Pregnancy
There are medical treatments you can pursue if you have blocked tubes. For example, a laparoscopy not only diagnoses blockages. It can also sometimes be used to remove any blockages. Alternatively, a surgeon can remove damaged parts of the tubes and connect the two healthy parts during surgery.
While these treatment options are generally more expensive than natural treatments to unblock Fallopian tubes, they have a higher success rate.
However, if large parts of the tubes are damaged or blocked, it might not be possible to remove the blockages.
The takeaway: Blocked fallopian tubes and Pregnancy
If none of the above medical or natural treatments works, there are several alternative methods for getting pregnant. These include:
in vitro fertilization (IVF) using your eggs
IVF using donor eggs
surrogacy
Speak to your doctor about a fertility plan if you’re having difficulty conceiving. Together, you can figure out the cause, possible treatments, and a way forward.
If your other tube is healthy and functional and you get a regular menstrual cycle, you’ll likely be able to get pregnant with only one Fallopian tube.
For women who have had one Fallopian tube removed, an interesting and surprising phenomenon can also occur. The remaining Fallopian tube can migrate between the ovaries to pick up the egg that’s ovulating.
Tips For Getting Pregnant With Only One Fallopian Tube
If you have only one Fallopian tube, you can follow general best practices to try to conceive. In some cases, getting pregnant naturally can be a challenge.
If you’re struggling to conceive, you may benefit from seeing a fertility doctor who can evaluate your situation. Many treatments can help you achieve a healthy pregnancy.
Best Fertility Treatments For Those With One Fallopian Tube
Fertility treatments range from low complexity therapies to more involved treatments like IVF. The best fertility treatment for you will depend on any other fertility difficulties that you’re experiencing.
For example, women who ovulate irregularly may benefit from medications that stimulate ovulation. Or, if one of your Fallopian tubes is blocked due to endometriosis, surgery may be required to remove the endometrial tissue. After an evaluation, your doctor will be able to recommend the best fertility treatments for you.
In the world, 36 cases of measles per 1 million persons are reported each year; about 134,200 die. For every 1,000 children who get measles, one or two will die from it. Even if there is no evidence of any medical treatment there are still home remedies to manage the sickness. Read till the end of our article to
Measles is a very infectious respiratory infection. It causes a total-body skin rash and flu-like symptoms. Measles is rare in the United States thanks to widespread immunization. But millions of cases happen worldwide every year.
Measles (also called rubeola) is caused by a virus, so there’s no specific medical treatment for it. The virus has to run its course. A child who is sick should drink plenty of liquids, get lots of rest, and stay home from school or daycare to prevent the spreading of the infection.
Signs & Symptoms of Measles: Measles Home treatment for babies
The first symptoms of a measles infection are usually a hacking cough, runny nose, high fever, and red eyes. Kids also may have Koplik’s spots (small red spots with blue-white centres) inside the mouth before the rash starts.
The rash breaks out 3–5 days after symptoms start, sometimes along with a high fever up to 104°F (40°C). The red or reddish-brown rash usually begins as flat red spots on the forehead. It spreads to the rest of the face, then down the neck and torso to the arms, legs, and feet. The fever and rash slowly go away after a few days.
Measles is very infectious. 9 out of 10 people who aren’t vaccinated for measles will get it if they are near an infected person.
People of Risk for Measles: Measles Home treatment for babies
Measles spreads when people breathe in or have direct contact with the virus-infected fluid. It can pass through droplets sprayed into the air when someone with measles sneezes or coughs. Someone exposed to the virus usually shows symptoms 7–14 days later.
People with measles can spread the disease from 4 days before the rash starts until about 4 days after that. They’re most contagious when they have a fever, runny nose, and cough. Those with weak immune systems due to other conditions (like HIV and AIDS) can spread the measles virus until they recover.
Measles Home Treatments: Measles Home treatment for babies
When measles symptoms begin seven to 14 days after you’ve been infected, they’re usually mild to moderate with a runny nose, sore throat, cough, and fever, and last two to three days.1 When the rash begins approximately three to five days later, your fever typically spikes and your other symptoms may get worse. You will probably start to feel better a few days later and the rash will begin to fade.
Though some people with measles may need to be hospitalized, it’s possible to recover at home as long as you don’t develop any complications.
At-home treatment will be mainly supportive and can include, when necessary:
give your child plenty of fluids
encourage extra rest
give a non-aspirin fever medicine, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen if a fever makes your child uncomfortable. Never give aspirin to a child who has a viral illness, as such use is linked to Reye syndrome.
Kids with measles should be closely watched by a doctor. In some cases, measles can lead to other problems, such as:
ear infections
croup
diarrhoea
pneumonia
encephalitis (irritation and swelling of the brain)
Children with measles should be kept away from others for 4 days after their rash appears. For those with a weak immune system, this should continue until they make a full recovery and all symptoms are gone.
Measles Prevention: Measles Home treatment for babies
The best way to protect your kids is to make sure they’re immunized against measles.
For most kids, measles protection is part of the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine (MMR) or measles-mumps-rubella-varicella vaccine (MMRV) given when they’re 12 to 15 months old and again when they’re 4 to 6 years old.
The vaccine can be given to babies as young as 6 months old if they will be travelling internationally. Talk to your doctor to see when the vaccine is needed.
Vaccination Importance: Measles Home treatment for babies
Widespread immunization has made measles rare in the U.S. But outbreaks do still happen. An outbreak is when a disease happens in greater numbers than expected in a particular area. Measles outbreaks have been increasing worldwide, mostly due to people not being vaccinated.
It’s important for all kids who can get the vaccine to get it on time. At-risk people (such as those with weak immune systems) can’t get the vaccine. But when a lot of other people are immunized against a disease, it protects them, prevents the disease from spreading, and helps prevent outbreaks.
Doctors can give an injection of measles antibodies (called immune globulin) to at-risk people who are exposed to measles. It’s most effective when given within 6 days of contact. These antibodies can either prevent measles or make symptoms less severe.
The measles vaccine also can help protect unvaccinated people from getting sick after exposure to measles if they get it within 3 days.
When Should I Call the Doctor?: Measles Home treatment for babies
Call the doctor right away if you think that your child has measles. Also call if your child was around someone who has measles, especially if your child:
is an infant
is taking medicines that suppress the immune system
has tuberculosis, cancer, or a disease that affects the immune system
What foods help chronic obstructive pulmonary disease?
What is the best tea for COPD?
How can I get rid of COPD fast?
Can lungs heal from COPD?
Can you live a long life with COPD?
OVERVIEW
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) is a dreadful lung Sickness. It can improve with treatment, and home remedies can relieve coughing, excess mucus production, and other symptoms. (COPD) limit airflow into and out of the lungs. People with this kind of illness tend to experience curtness of breath and may therefore have difficulty exercising and performing everyday activities.
Even though there is currently no cure for COPD, various home remedies can help open up the airways and improve a person’s quality of life.
Throughout this article, we will expose the home remedies, including lifestyle changes, supplements, essential oils and finally the best diet that can help people manage COPD.
Smoking is the main cause of COPD in the United States and is responsible for around COPD-related deaths.
Tobacco smoke irritates the airways within the lungs. Inflammation and obstruction of the airways causing them to narrow, making it difficult for air to pass in and out.
According to a recent review, people with COPD who smoke have a more rapid decline in lung function, more complications, and an increased risk of mortality.
Smoking may also reduce the effectiveness of inhaled steroid medications that doctors use to treat severe COPD.
Stopping smoking is the most effective action that someone who smokes and has COPD can take to slow disease progression. People can see a doctor for advice on how to quit smoking.
2. Improve air quality in the home: COPD Homes Remedies And Diet
Certain irritants inside the home can make breathing more difficult for people with COPD. Common irritants include:
paints and varnishes
chemical cleaning products
pesticides
tobacco smoke
dust
pet dander
People can improve air quality in their homes by:
limiting contact with household chemicals
opening windows to increase airflow
using an air filtration system
having air filtration systems cleaned regularly to prevent the growth of harmful mould and mildew
vacuuming and removing clutter to prevent dust from building up
washing bed linens every week to reduce dust mites
3. Practice breathing exercises: COPD Homes Remedies And Diet
Practising breathing exercises aim to improve the symptoms of COPD by improving the muscles a person uses to take breaths and improve their ability to exercise.
Pursed-lip breathing. This is when a person inhales through their nose and exhales through tightly pursed lips.
Diaphragm breathing. This means contracting the diaphragm to breathe more deeply. The belly visibly expands while breathing in and deflates when breathing out.
Pranayama. This is a controlled breathing technique common in yoga practice. Pranayama involves concentrating on areas of the body involved in breathing.
4. Manage stress levels
Emotional stress can weaken the immune system and increase the risk of COPD flare-ups.
COPD can cause sudden symptom flare-ups or exacerbations. Anxiety and depression may increase the risk of flare-ups. Engaging in stress management strategies will improve general health.
One study found that people with COPD who also had anxiety or depression were more likely to be readmitted to the hospital within 30 days of leaving. Emotional stress may weaken the immune system, increasing the risk of respiratory infections.
Mindfulness meditation may help reduce emotional distress. A small-scale study found that an 8-week mindfulness meditation course improved respiratory rate in people with COPD compared with the control group. People also reported improved emotional function after six classes.
Many people with COPD have difficulty exercising because breathing is harder. However, avoiding exercise can worsen symptoms such as muscle weakness and fatigue.
The following exercises may help people with COPD improve muscle strength and increase exercise capacity:
Interval training. This entails alternating periods of high- and low-intensity exercise. Interval training is good for people with severe COPD, as it exercises muscles without overloading the heart and lungs.
Strength training. This uses resistance methods such as weights, resistance bands, and a person’s body weight to increase muscle size and strength. Building up the muscles in the lower body can help improve shortness of breath.
Once a person begins to lose fitness, exercise becomes increasingly difficult, and lung function may worsen. People should therefore start an exercise regime at an early stage for the best benefits.
7. Water-based exercises
People with COPD may have muscle or bone conditions that make it more difficult to exercise. Water exercises place less stress on the body, which can make them easier and more manageable for people with COPD.
A 2013 study found that water-based exercises might increase a person’s exercise capacity and quality of life. In people with COPD and physical disabilities, water-based exercises were more effective than both land-based exercise and no exercise.
The researchers suggested that these effects might be due to the unique properties of water, which support body weight through buoyancy and provide resistance to increase exercise intensity.
Supplements for COPD
A range of supplements can help improve the symptoms of COPD by controlling inflammation and reducing symptoms. Supplements for COPD include:
8. Vitamin D
Vitamin D deficiency may increase inflammation of the airways and reduce the body’s ability to clear bacteria.
A 2015 review found that people with severe COPD tended to have low levels of vitamin D. Vitamin D supplements may improve some symptoms of COPD and improve flare-ups.
People can also use essential oils to open up the airways and clear mucus from the lungs. People can use essential oils in a diffuser or dilute them in a carrier oil and apply them to the skin. Essential oils for COPD include:
9. Eucalyptus oil: COPD Homes Remedies And Diet
Eucalyptus oil has anti-inflammatory properties.
The oil contains a natural compound called eucalyptol. Eucalyptol may have the following benefits for people with COPD:
has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties
opens up the airways in the lungs
reduces mucus production
helps clear mucus from the lungs
prevents flare-ups in moderate to severe COPD
The results of one study suggest adding 12 drops of eucalyptus oil to 150 millilitres of boiling water and inhaling up to three times per day.
When to see a doctor: COPD Homes Remedies And Diet
A person should see a doctor if they have the following symptoms of a COPD exacerbation:
more shortness of breath
more mucus production than usual
mucus that is yellow, green, or brown
mucus that is thicker or stickier than usual
fever
cold and flu symptoms
increased tiredness
Certain signs and symptoms indicate a severe COPD exacerbation. People should call the emergency services right away if they have the following:
chest pain
shortness of breath
blue lips or fingers
confusion or agitation
drowsiness
Treating COPD exacerbations early can reduce the likelihood of developing further complications.
Summary: COPD Homes Remedies And Diet
COPD is a dreadful illness that can be difficult to manage. People can reduce their symptoms at home using certain home remedies, including exercises, breathing techniques, dietary supplements, and essential oils.
If the symptoms of COPD get worse, a person should see their doctor.
According to a recent review, a balanced diet can help people with COPD by improving lung function. A balanced diet also has metabolic and heart benefits. Underweight people may especially benefit from a nutritional diet high in calories, protein, and unsaturated fats.
This type of diet increases a person’s energy and helps build muscle when combined with exercise. However, more large-scale studies are needed before researchers understand the benefits of this diet for people with COPD.
The American Lung Association recommend the following types of food for people who have COPD:
Complex carbohydrates
Complex carbohydrates contain long chains of sugar molecules. The body takes time to break down these molecules. As such, complex carbohydrates provide a relatively sustained release of energy.
Foods that contain complex carbohydrates include:
fresh fruit and starchy vegetables
whole grains
whole grain bread and pasta
beans and lentils
If a person with COPD wants to gain weight, eating a variety of complex carbohydrates alongside healthy sources of fat and protein can help.
Alternatively, if a person with COPD has extra body fat to lose, replacing refined carbohydrate sources with complex carbs, protein, and healthy fat can promote weight loss.
According to the American Lung Association, a person with COPD should aim for around 20–30 grams of fibre each day. Foods that contain a good amount of fibre include:
Protein sources can help increase muscle mass and help people gain weight if needed. Alternatively, adding high-quality protein sources to meals and snacks or swapping refined carbohydrate sources with healthful proteins may promote weight loss.
Mono and polyunsaturated fats are healthful fats that can help lower a person’s cholesterol. Some foods that contain these fats include:
certain vegetable oils, such as olive oil and avocado oil
certain fish, including salmon
nuts and seeds
avocados
According to the American Lung Association, a person with COPD who is looking to gain weight should try adding these fats to meals. If they are looking to lose weight, they should limit their intake of all fats, including mono and polyunsaturated fats.
Many high-fat foods are nutritious, and people can include them in a healthful diet. However, many highly processed foods are high-fat, and people with COPD should avoid or limit them to promote overall health.
People with COPD must avoid or limit the following high-fat foods:
Meal plans for COPD can vary depending on a person’s dietary requirements and personal circumstances. However, people can consider the following meal plan as a guide:
Breakfast
oatmeal with strawberries, blueberries, and almond butter
Snack
Boiled egg and fresh sliced vegetables
Lunch
Grilled chicken breast with salad and new potatoes

The Best diet For Goiter:Goiter Home Remedies And Diet
There are certain foods that you can include in your diet to speed up recovery from goiter. These food items replenish the iodine and selenium levels in the body causing a healthy amount of thyroid hormone to be produced. They also contain anti-inflammatory compounds and antioxidants which reduce swelling and other symptoms. Here is the recommended diet for goiter. • Iodine-Rich Diet – If your goiter is caused due to iodine deficiency, you need to replenish your body with an iodine-rich diet. Try using iodized salt or consume more seafood, cod fish, tuna, eggs, natural yoghurt, milk, navy beans, baked potato with skin, and cranberries. Adults should consume about 150 micrograms of iodine every day to keep goiter away.
• Lettuce – Do not confuse this green leafy vegetable with cabbage, which is a cruciferous vegetable (and is not recommended for goiter patients). Lettuce is rich in iodine and is apt for consumption by goiter patients. • Selenium Rich Foods – Your thyroid gland requires selenium to function at its optimal level. Some foods are naturally rich in this mineral like Brazil nuts, sunflower seeds, shellfish, onions, mushrooms, wheat germ, barley, meats, poultry, eggs, and fatty fish. Even meat items like kidneys and liver can be consumed as they contain a good amount of selenium in them. Make these foods a part of your daily diet to help cure goiter.
• Bananas and pineapples are also recommended for goiter treatment.
What Food To Avoid For Goiter: Goiter Home Remedies And Diet
Goitrogenic foods are those that hinder the normal functioning of the thyroid gland. As a result, the gland is unable to synthesize iodine properly. So, there are some foods that you should eat in moderation, and these include:
You can cook goitrogenic foods to negate their effect on your thyroid. While it is not necessary to eliminate them from your diet completely, you should consume them in moderation
5 Foods That Improve Thyroid Function
Is your thyroid functioning properly? Thyroid hormones are essential as they regulate energy levels, metabolism, body temperature, mood, heart rate, and blood pressure.
If your thyroid is not producing enough hormones, a condition known as hypothyroidism, can affect your body in negative ways and leave you feeling sluggish.
While the cause of thyroid disorders is largely unknown, there is evidence that certain foods can aid in thyroid function. If you have hypothyroidism, here are five foods to add to your diet.
Roasted seaweed
Seaweed, such as kelp, nori, and wakame, are naturally rich in iodine–a trace element needed for normal thyroid function. Eat seaweed with sushi or get packaged seaweed snacks to toss in salads.
Salted nuts
Brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, and hazelnuts are excellent sources of selenium, which helps support healthy thyroid function. Pack a small bag of assorted nuts to snack on throughout the day.
Baked fish
Fish is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and selenium, which both help decrease inflammation. Bake salmon, cod, sea bass, haddock, or perch for lunch or dinner to get a healthy dose of Omega-3s and selenium.
Dairy
Dairy products like yoghurt, ice cream, and milk contain iodine. The thyroid needs iodine to prevent its glands from becoming enlarged–known as goiter. Treat yourself to a low-fat serving of frozen yogyoghurt to get sufficient levels of iodine.
Fresh eggs
Eggs contain healthy amounts of both selenium and iodine. For the most health benefits, eat the whole egg, as the yolk holds most of the nutrients.
Can a child get over an ear infection without antibiotics?
How do you cure an ear infection without antibiotics?
Can you get rid of an ear infection without going to the doctor?
When should I worry about my child’s ear pain?
OVERVIEW
About 50% of all children will have at least 1 ear infection by the time they are 05… It often wakes up the infant or young child during sleep. Throughout this article, we will first acknowledge the ear infection’s meaning and symptoms. Secondly, we will discuss about measures to ease the pain and finally the prevention and the time to see a doctor. Happy reading.
Ear infection meaning: Baby’s Ear Infection Home Remedies
If your baby is fussy, cries more than usual, and tugs at their ear, they may have an ear infection. Five out of six children will have an ear infection before their 3rd birthday, according to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication DisordersTrusted Source.
An ear infection, or otitis media, is a painful inflammation of the middle ear. Most middle ear infections occur between the eardrum and the eustachian tube, which connects the ears, nose, and throat.
Ear infections often follow a cold. Bacteria or viruses are usually the cause. The infection causes inflammation and swelling of the eustachian tube. The tube narrows and fluid builds behind the eardrum, causing pressure and pain. Children have shorter and narrower eustachian tubes than adults. Also, their tubes are more horizontal, so it’s easier for them to get blocked.
Approximately 5 to 10 per cent of children with an ear infection will experience a ruptured eardrum, according to the Children’s National Health System. The eardrum usually heals within one to two weeks, and rarely causes permanent damage to the child’s hearing.
Ear infection Symptoms Treatment
Earaches can be painful and your baby can’t tell you what hurts. But there are several common signs:
irritability
pulling or batting at the ear (note that if your baby has no other symptoms this is an unreliable sign)
loss of appetite
trouble sleeping
fever
fluid draining from the ear
Ear infections can cause dizziness. If your baby has reached the wobbling stage, take extra care to protect them from falls.
Antibiotics
For years, antibiotics were prescribed for ear infections. We now know that antibiotics are often not the best option. A research review published in The Journal of the American Medical AssociationTrusted Source notes that among average-risk children with ear infections, 80 per cent recover in about three days without the use of antibiotics. Using antibiotics to treat an ear infection may cause the bacteria responsible for ear infections to become resistant to antibiotics. This makes it harder to treat future infections.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), antibiotics cause diarrhoea and vomiting in approximately 15 per cent of children who take them. The AAP also notes that up to 5 per cent of children prescribed antibiotics have an allergic reaction, which is serious and can be life-threatening.
In most cases, the AAP and the American Academy of Family Physicians recommend holding off on starting antibiotics for 48 to 72 hours because an infection may clear up on its own.
However, there are times when antibiotics are the best course of action. In general, the AAP recommends prescribing antibiotics for ear infections in:
children aged 6 months and younger
children aged 6 months to 12 years who have severe symptoms
Best Measure
Ear infections can cause pain, but there are measures you can take to help ease the pain. Here are six home remedies.
Warm compress
Try placing a warm, moist compress over your child’s ear for about 10 to 15 minutes. This may help reduce pain.
Acetaminophen
If your baby is older than 6 months, acetaminophen (Tylenol) may help relieve pain and fever. Use the medication as recommended by your doctor and the instructions on the pain reliever’s bottle. For best results, try giving your child a dose before bed.
If there is no fluid draining from your child’s ear and a ruptured eardrum isn’t suspected, place a few drops of room temperature or slightly warmed olive oil or sesame oil in the affected ear.
Stay hydrated: Baby’s Ear Infection Home Remedies
Offer your child fluids often. Swallowing can help open the eustachian tube so the trapped fluid can drain.
Elevate your baby’s head: Baby’s Ear Infection Home Remedies
Slightly elevate the crib at the head to improve your baby’s sinus drainage. Do not place pillows under your baby’s head. Instead, place a pillow or two under the mattress.
Homoeopathic eardrops containing extracts of ingredients such as garlic, mullein, lavender, calendula, and St. John’s wort in olive oil may help relieve inflammation and pain.
Preventing ear infections: Baby’s Ear Infection Home Remedies
Although many ear infections can’t be prevented, there are steps you can take to lessen your baby’s risk.
Breastfeed your baby for six to 12 months if possible. Antibodies in your milk can protect your baby from ear infections and a host of other medical conditions.
Protect your baby from exposure to secondhand smoke, which can make ear infections more severe and more frequent.
Proper bottle position
If you bottle feeds your baby, hold the infant in a semi-upright position so the formula doesn’t flow back into the eustachian tubes. Avoid bottle propping for the same reason.
Healthy environment: Baby’s Ear Infection Home Remedies
When possible, avoid exposing your baby to situations where cold and flu bugs abound. If you or someone in your household is sick, wash your hands often to keep the germs away from your baby.

Get pregnant with Azoospermia. Azoospermia also called low sperm count is one of the major causes of infertility. Eat garlic to boost sperm.
OVERVIEW
Azoospermia also called low sperm count is one of the major causes of infertility. Around 10 per cent of infertile men and 1 per cent of all men have azoospermia. In our article, we’ve tried to define Azoospermia. Then shed more light on Subfertile vs Infertile vs Sterile. And finally, list some important food to increase your sperm count. Read till the end for more discoveries.
Azoospermia definition: G et pregnant with Azoospermia
Low sperm count Known as azoospermia is the medical term used when there is no sperm in the ejaculate. It can be “obstructive,” where there is a blockage preventing sperm from entering the ejaculate, or it can be “nonobstructive” when it is due to decreased sperm production by the testi
With the rate of infertility, it is obvious that many couples are facing issues when it comes to bearing children. Among its causes, we have a routine that involves drinking and smoking, no exercise, sitting jobs, overuse of radiation technology and getting married and conceiving at a late age. But, here the question is not about why but about how, so let’s assume that you are a couple wanting to conceive but the male partner is infertile. So, what all options do you have in that case? Quite a few, it seems.
Subfertile vs Infertile vs Steril: Get pregnant with Azoospermia
It is important to redefine that three concepts. Subfertile is the least severe condition of these three and can be dealt with easily. In this case, a pregnancy can be easily achieved but it may get hampered due to one reason or another. In infertility, the pregnancy, again, may be achieved but there are more difficulties than in subfertility. However, sterility is the most severe condition in which the fusion of the egg with the sperm never occurs. Now, you need to understand where your partner falls concerning these three categories. The solution that you need will be based on the condition of your partner.
When your partner is subfertile: IUI
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is one of the very common ways of achieving a pregnancy in which the male partner’s sperms are at least 10 million. The man’s semen is taken and washed by some special procedures in a laboratory. Of the sperms, a few are selected which are deemed to be of the best quality. Then, they are placed inside the female partner’s womb using a thin tube.
If your partner is infertile: IVF or ICSI
This procedure is not popular. but in In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) are two very similar procedures. The only difference is that in IVF, the egg and the sperm are left to unite in a petri dish. But in ICSI, a procedure that is followed if the sperm count is very low, the sperm is given an extra boost to merge with the egg. Both processes happen outside the womb and in a laboratory. Once the embryo is formed, it is put inside the womb.
This method is followed when the male partner has gone through a complete testicular failure, the ad has abnormal or no sperms. Donor sperm can then be obtained from semen banks, which have lately gained popularity. The sperm is then injected into the egg.
Foods That Can Increase Sperm Count and Motility Fast
If you want to ease sperm count and motility by food, then you can continue reading.
Approximately half of all cases of infertility are caused by men with the most notable issues being decreased sperm count and motility. Fortunately, men are constantly producing new sperm, and many of the issues that cause poor sperm health can be improved by eating foods that increase sperm count and motility and avoiding food and other behaviours known to harm sperm health.
Sperm health matters whether you’re trying to conceive naturally or with the help of fertility treatments like IUI (aka artificial insemination), IVF, or even Donor Egg IVF; so listen up, as this article will cover 10 of the top foods that increase sperm count and motility fast.
Beef: Loaded with Zinc, Selenium, Vitamin B 12, and Carnitine for Sperm Count and Motility
Beef is one of many foods that can support healthy sperm count and motility. It is loaded with all sorts of important nutrients for motility, sperm development, and overall sperm health, including zinc, selenium, vitamin B12, carnitine, and more.

The benefits of zinc for sperm quality are well documented, and zinc is one of the nutrients found at its highest concentration in beef. Zinc has been shown to improve many aspects of male fertility, including sperm count, motility, morphology, and more. Research has shown that zinc is found at a higher concentration in human seminal plasma compared to any other human tissue.
The results of a systematic review and meta-analysis on zinc and its relationship to male fertility showed that getting more zinc can significantly increase sperm volume, motility, and percentage of normal sperm morphology. Many other studies have produced similar findings and found that zinc can improve several aspects of male fertility.
Acetyl L-Carnitine (ALC), also known as carnitine, plays a pivotal role in the maturation of sperm. Most of the research surrounding carnitine indicates it is most effective at improving sperm motility, but it can also help to improve sperm morphology and overall male fertility.
So if you’re wondering how to increase sperm count and motility by food, the best place to start is likely a nice juicy steak.
Liver – Vitamin A, Vitamin B12, folate liver
The liver is a premium source of many different vitamins that have been shown to play a crucial role in supporting male fertility, like vitamins A and B12, folate, and Co Q10.

Research has shown that vitamin A is essential for male reproduction. Vitamin A is required for the maintenance of the male genital tract and spermatogenesis (the development of sperm.)
Co Q10 is beneficial for men suffering from infertility issues, particularly asthenozoospermia (poor sperm motility.) Co-Q10 can help to improve several semen parameters, including; sperm concentration, count, and motility. That said, 4.5 mg of CoQ10 is much less than the recommended dosage of CoQ10 for Fertility so you may want to consider a male fertility supplement.
Still, the Vitamin B, B12, Folate, and Protein content of the liver makes it one of the best foods to boost sperm count and other aspects of sperm health.
Oysters – Zinc, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, and Selenium
We mentioned zinc content as one of the reasons beef is the number one food to boost sperm count, but there’s no doubt that when it comes to zinc alone, Oysters are king. Oysters contain the greatest amount of zinc of any food on this list, but they are also an excellent source of vitamin B 12, Vitamin D, and Selenium. This combo makes oysters one of the top foods for boosting sperm count and motility.

Vitamin B12 plays an important role in sperm development, as it does with all cells. Research has shown that vitamin B12 can help improve sperm count, sperm motility, and overall sperm quality.
Since vitamin B12 plays an important role in sperm development, especially DNA synthesis, it makes sense that B12 improves the DNA integrity of sperm. Another study on vitamin B12 showed that in addition to improving motility, B12 can also help to improve sperm vitality.
Vitamin D and fertility are closely linked. The vitamin D receptor (VDR) and vitamin D metabolizing enzymes are found in male reproductive tissues Unfortunately, low vitamin D status has been associated with low semen quality. This is likely due to the influence that vitamin D has on the testis. Vitamin D directly affects hormone production and the development of sperm.
High vitamin D levels have been linked to increased sperm motility and overall semen quality.
In addition to vitamins B12 and D, oysters also contain a high concentration of selenium which has been shown to improve several aspects of male fertility.
Tomatoes are another good source of vitamin C, but they also contain a substantial amount of the plant nutrient lycopene. Lycopene is what gives many different fruits their red colour. It is known to be a powerful antioxidant with several positive effects on male fertility.

Other studies have confirmed these findings and shown support for lycopene improving male fertility.
That makes tomatoes one key food that helps boost sperm count and more.
Walnuts – Omega 3, Folate, B6, Zinc, Antioxidants
Walnuts contain multiple beneficial nutrients already mentioned in this article and also that haven’t been discussed yet. Two B vitamins that are particularly supportive of male fertility and sperm qualities are folate and B6.

Like some of the other nutrients previously mentioned, folate is essential for male fertility and plays an important role in spermatogenesis. During sperm development, sperm DNA undergoes multiple replications. Folate is required for proper DNA synthesis and replication.
When folate levels are low, sperm may replicate improperly, which reduces sperm quality. Vitamin B6 is growing in popularity in the fertility field. Evidence suggests that B6 plays an important role in maintaining normal sperm parameters. In one study, men with diminished sperm motility were found to have lower seminal plasma B6 when compared to men with normal sperm motility.
It contains significant amounts of several vitamins and nutrients mentioned in this article, but garlic as a whole has been found to have positive effects on male fertility.

Likely due to its antioxidant properties, garlic has been found to improve sperm production and testosterone levels.[50] Although additional studies are required to confirm the efficacy of using garlic to improve other aspects of male fertility, evidence suggests that garlic may also protect against damage to sperm production and testosterone levels caused by chemotherapy treatments.

As there are foods you can eat to improve sperm count and motility, there are also foods you should avoid.
Processed Meats: Get pregnant with Azoospermia
Research shows that eating processed meats may reduce a man’s ability to fertilize an egg. Researchers at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health tracked the diets of 141 men undergoing IVF treatment with their female partners. A link was established between frequent processed meat consumption and lower fertilization rates. Men from the study who ate the least amount of processed meats had a 28% better chance of achieving pregnancy compared to men who ate the most processed meats.
Fried foods contain high levels of trans fat, and trans fat can be extremely harmful to male fertility. Studies have shown that eating fried foods 1-2 times per week can decrease sperm counts by an average of 10.5% and sperm concentrations by 13.7%. Eating fried food 3 or more times per week can decrease sperm counts by an average of 24.5% and sperm concentrations by 17.2%
Trans fats have also been inversely related to total sperm count, even in young men who are otherwise considered healthy.
Soy products contain xenoestrogens called phytoestrogens which are known to harm sperm. Phytoestrogens can reduce sperm concentration. Other studies agree with these findings and show that a higher intake of soy is associated with lower sperm concentration. The results of these studies have been published and discussed in Harvard Health Publishing
Alcohol: Get pregnant with Azoospermia
Everything is in moderation. It’s a wonderful adage, especially when it comes to alcohol and fertility health. Studies have shown that moderate alcohol consumption doesn’t have a significant impact on fertility. On the other hand, many studies exist showing that the fertility of alcoholic men suffers greatly.
One study, in particular, focused on the difference in sperm quality between alcoholic and non-alcoholic men. Researchers concluded that decreased semen quality is linked to increased alcohol consumption. A meta-analysis of 15 studies on alcohol and its effects on male fertility found that daily alcohol consumption had a consistently negative impact on sperm morphology and volume
The good news is that research has shown that men with a history of chronic alcohol intoxication can achieve a drastic improvement in semen characteristics after three months of alcohol withdrawal

Skipping breakfast is a lot like skipping rope: neither gets you anywhere. Although lots of people think they’ll cut calories by cutting breakfast, the opposite is true. Studies show that eating breakfast helps you consume fewer total calories for the day. One national U.S. health and nutrition survey found that men who eat breakfast weigh about 2.7 kilograms (6 pounds) less than men who skip it. Women weigh 4 kilograms (9 pounds) less. And a 10-year study of almost 2,400 adolescent girls showed that those who ate any kind of breakfast had lower BMIs than girls who did not. People who eat cereal for breakfast have lower BMIs than people who skip breakfast or dine on meat and eggs.
2. Eat High Fibre Foods: Tips to overcome obesity in Canada
Eat a bowl of brown rice topped with chickpeas. And sautéed vegetables for lunch, and, likely, you won’t want another bite until supper. High-fibre foods like these have few calories. They barely have little fat, and lots of bulk, which keeps you full. They’re also digested slowly, which means your blood sugar stays at an even keel Instead of rapidly spiking and falling, which leaves you hungry again in no time. Whole grains also provide nutrients, such as magnesium and vitamin B6, that many weight-loss diets are deficient in. A great way to get a good dose of fibre is to start your day with high-fibre cereal.
3. Eat Raw, Leafy Green Vegetables: Tips to overcome obesity in Canada
Head for the salad bar. Greens and raw vegetative like carrots, zucchini, and broccoli are remarkably low in calories but high in water and slow-digesting fibre, so they tend to fill you up. Squelching your appetite isn’t the only reason to frequent the produce section. In a study of almost 18,000 people, researchers found that those who ate salads often had higher levels of vitamins C and E, and folate. and carotenoids, important for overall health, than people who had fewer salads
Researchers have also found that people who eat a vegetarian diet weigh an average of 3 to 20 per cent less than meat eaters.
4. Turn to Fish, Chicken and Beans for Protein: Tips to overcome obesity in Canada
We’re not advising a high-protein, low-carb diet Just that you make it a point to eat some protein with every meal (and every snack, too). Other studies have shown that people on high-protein diets that are also rich in “slow-burning” carbohydrates are low on the glycemic index (such as fruits and vegetables, beans, and whole-wheat pasta) are less hungry and lose more weight than people on low-protein, high-carbohydrate diets.
Getting enough protein when you’re dieting also helps you lose fat, not muscle. For instance, in a small 10-week study, one group of women ate 275 to 300 grams (9 to 10 ounces) of protein a day for 10 weeks The result was a reduced amount of carbohydrates. The control group ate about half that amount of protein and third more carbohydrates. Although both groups took in the same number of calories and lost about 7.7 kilograms (17 pounds). The women on the higher-protein diet lost 1 more kilogram (2 pounds) of fat and 450 grams (1 pound) less muscle than the control group. Don’t overdo protein, though. People with type 2 diabetes, which often affects the obese, are at greater risk for kidney disease. And overeating protein may increase the problem.

Nuts are crunchy, salty and no longer forbidden. Even though nuts are fatty, they may help you shed weight, according to several studies. Researchers believe that the healthy fat in nuts helps people feel full, and the protein may use up calories as it digests. Large studies have found that people who eat nuts regularly have lower BMIs than those who don’t.
In a study of 65 obese adults at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California, for example, one group added 90 grams (3 ounces) of almonds to a 1,000-calorie liquid diet; another group added complex carbohydrates like popcorn or baked potatoes. Both groups ate roughly the same number of calories and amount of protein, but the almond diet had more than double the fat, primarily healthy monounsaturated fat. Over 24 weeks, the people on the almond diet reduced their weights and body mass indexes by 18 per cent compared with 11 per cent in the carbohydrate group. Both groups lowered blood sugar, insulin levels, and insulin resistance, which can lead to weight gain. but almost all the diabetic participants in the almond group were able to control their blood sugar on less medication, compared to only half of those in the carb group.

Early-stage HIV infection is often treated with one of the following antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimens:
Dolutegravir plus tenofovir and either emtricitabine or lamivudine
Bictegravir-tenofovir alafenamide-emtricitabine
Ritonavir-boosted darunavir plus tenofovir and either emtricitabine or lamivudine
Here is a list of natural plants that help to manage HIV at an early stage according to some research.

Why is good nutrition important for people living with HIV?
Healthy nutrition is about finding and maintaining a healthy eating style. Good nutrition supports overall health and helps maintain the immune system. It also helps people with HIV maintain a healthy weight and absorb HIV medicines.
HIV attacks and destroys the immune system, which makes it harder for the body to fight off infections. People with HIV take a combination of HIV medicines (called an HIV treatment regimen) every day. The medicines prevent HIV from destroying the immune system. A healthy diet also helps strengthen the immune system and keep people with HIV healthy.
What is a healthy diet for people living with HIV?: Can HIV Be Cured?
In general, the basics of a healthy diet are the same for everyone, including people with HIV.
Eat a variety of foods from the five food groups: fruits, vegetables, grains, protein foods, and dairy.
Eat the right amount of food to maintain a healthy weight.
Choose foods low in saturated fat, sodium (salt), and added sugars.
Can HIV or HIV medicines cause nutrition-related problems?
HIV and HIV medicines can sometimes cause nutrition-related problems. For example, some HIV-related infections can make it hard to eat or swallow. Side effects from HIV medicines, such as loss of appetite, nausea, or diarrhoea, can make it hard to stick to an HIV regimen. If you have HIV and are having a nutrition-related problem, talk to your health care provider.
People with HIV must also pay attention to food safety to avoid nutrition-related problems.
Food and water can be contaminated with germs that cause illnesses (called foodborne illnesses or food poisoning). Food safety is about how to select, handle, prepare, and store food to prevent foodborne illnesses.
Why is food safety important for people living with HIV?
Because HIV damages the immune system, foodborne illnesses are likely to be more serious and last longer in people with HIV than in people with a healthy immune system. Following food safety guidelines reduces the risk of foodborne illnesses.
What steps can people with HIV take to prevent foodborne illnesses?
If you have HIV, follow these food safety guidelines to reduce your risk of foodborne illnesses:
Do not eat or drink the following foods: Can HIV Be Cured?
Raw eggs or foods that contain raw eggs, for example, homemade cookie dough
Raw or undercooked poultry, meat, and seafood
Unpasteurized milk or dairy products and fruit juices
Follow the four basic steps to food safety: clean, separate, cook, and chill.
Clean: Wash your hands, cooking utensils, and countertops often when preparing foods.
Separate: Separate foods to prevent the spread of any germs from one food to another. For example, keep raw meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs separate from foods that are ready to eat, including fruits, vegetables, and bread.
Cook: Use a food thermometer to make sure that foods are cooked to safe temperatures.
Chill: Refrigerate or freeze meat, poultry, eggs, seafood, or other foods that are likely to spoil within 2 hours of cooking or purchasing.
